I found this hutch in a barn. Along, with several other discarded pieces of furniture. There wasn’t anything exceptional about this hutch. But, the bones were good. The glass shelves were in tact and the display lighting still worked. And for a small amount of chump change I brought her home.
She came apart into two sections. I wish I had a nice before picture of her all put together for a nice comparison but, I jumped in to quick and started painting her before I realized I hadn’t take the before shot.
Details:
The outside was refinished in Chalk Paint® decorative paint by Annie Sloan in Old White and the interior was refinished in Coco. It was lightly distressed and then finished with a clear wax. The original hardware and back plates were painted black and the knobs were updated.
The Results:
Annie Sloan’s Coco is a really nice backdrop to highlight white dishes. I’m ecstatic that the new owners thought so too.
