Metallic Cream is one of my favorite products that Country Chic Paint offers. So, we went on a hunt to find the best detailed piece we could find to rescue and re-love.

The Before:
We stumbled upon this gem at an estate sale. A vintage radio cabinet complete with red and orange fiber speakers. Jealous? I think there were 40 years worth of dust trapped in those suckers. ;)
We ditched those pretty things. Scissors and an exacto knife came in really handy for this step. In less then 10 minutes, we had them ripped out and thrown away! Now that the speakers were gone, this vintage radio cabinet was on it's way to becoming an updated and functional media console. After a really good dusting we we're ready to paint!
We applied two coats of Country Chic Paint in Liquorice. Once it was dry, we brushed on some Metallic Cream in Belt Buckle onto all of high spots of the detailed areas. We applied the same technique to some vintage hardware, and then added them to this piece. At the end of this post you'll find a short one minute video that demonstrates this.
We cut and painted pegboard and attached it to the back of the unit. Air ventilation is important when you're converting a piece to a TV console. This prevents any electronic components from getting too hot when the doors are closed.
We're calling this furniture makeover, The McCartney Media Console.
A perfectly functional piece that's been refinished using just 40% of a quart sized paint can and tiny amounts of metallic cream. Here are a few more close ups so you can see all of the yummy details...
Country Chic Metallic Creams come in four beautiful colors. Watch us as we dry brush some metallic cream onto this old vintage hardware.
Have a great weekend!
