I've had some extraordinary luck finding some wonderful pieces lately! I picked up this gem last week and was excited to break open a new can of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint® in Scandinavian Pink, but before I could do that I needed to make a decision on the hardware. Although these French Provincial handles were true to the piece, it wasn't grabbing me.
Are those flying horses?
Birds?
Swimming Sea Turtles?
Nope, none of the above. But, that didn't stop my eye from going right there and that wasn't the first place I wanted to look. The scallop trim, the dainty legs and the gold trim made my heart pitter-patter. So a decision was made... that hardware was outta there.

A few months ago I acquired a 9 ft. cabinet with 24 drawers and I'm tella ya I can't wait to get my hands on it and turn it into a ginormous library card catalog (more details to come on that)! So since I was right in the middle of shopping for card catalog hardware, I thought I'd try some of these label pulls on our London Dresser. How cute would it be to have a little girl have custom label drawer fronts?
Unfortunately, they didn't come in the gold hue I was looking for, but it was an easy fix with some Gold Rub n' Buff. Have you tried that stuff? I'm telling you, it's amazing!
I love Scandinavian Pink Chalk Paint®. It's a cross between a pink and a coral and since I live in a house of all boys, I rarely get the opportunity to paint something in such a girly color. This color combination paired with the gold turned out just lovely! It's been protected with General Finishes High Performance in Flat... our new favorite!
The London Dresser in all its glory....
Happy Wednesday!

What an amazing makeover!! It doesn't look like the same piece at all! (I may have to do this. Or maybe you could just come to my house....)
ReplyDeleteI love that color!!!
Thanks, Ally... Go for it!
DeleteDid you mix the color or is it straight up Scandinavian pink?
